Hi everyone, this one was sort of tricky to explain... Not sure if I'm even posting in the correct thread or if I should be in spousal sponsorship but I appreciate you taking the time to read/respond.
I am a US citizen who has an open/pending Outland Permanent Residency application through spousal sponsorship. My husband is a Canadian citizen.
I'm planning to visit him for about a month and a half, but am wondering if there will be any issues with me working remotely for my US job while in Canada as a visitor? To be clear, the company I work for does not conduct business in Canada, does not have Canadian clients, and I will not be soliciting work while in Canada. My paychecks will be deposited into my US bank account.
In the event there are no laws prohibiting this, can anyone recommend supporting documentation that may be helpful to bring when I cross the border? I'm planning to bring a copy of my 2016 US tax return, 5 most recent sealed pay stubs, and a letter on company letterhead stating the terms of my employment and when I will be back in the office. Is there anything else I should bring?
