Hello everyone. I am currently in a situation that I am very ashamed of.
On February 9th of this year i was convicted in VA of misdemeanor shoplifting (offense occurred in December of 2009). As part of the punishment I received a year of un-supervised probation.
My criminal history was clean until I was convicted.
For the past 5 years I've traveled with my in-laws to Canada for 2 weeks in august. I just thought about this tonight...will my probation deem me in-admissible to Canada? If so, I have read several items online about rehabilitation. What is it and how do I go about completing it? If it helps, I have paid all of my fines, the court fees, I have not violated the no-trespassing order, I've done volunteer work (from the time the offense occurred until the time I received my now full time job), and I have completed a anti-theft program from N.A.S.P.
I realize that in the eyes of many I do not deserve to be allowed to travel much less try to visit another country. However, I've been trying to make amends for what happened and become a good person again. I just ask that if you any advice to please post it to this thread because I don't know where to start to find out how or I may ever be allowed to visit Canada ever again.
