Hi,

I am a US citizen graduating in May 2014 with my Masters in Higher Education Administration. My fiance recently moved to Toronto ON (he is a Canadian & US citizen) and I would like to move up here with him, however I need a job. I have heard many stories on how hard it is to find a job, however would I need to find a job before applying for the permit or after?

I was also curious on to any advice anyone would have looking for a job and also which type of work permit to look for.

Any advice really.

Thank you!

Since you are US citizen, you can apply for jobs in Canada and come to give the interviews as well....long distance hiring is hard but possible....

for the permit you can get a work permit under NAFTA

check NAFTA it is the easiest way.
If you are Canadian you can work with NAFTA in usa. There are certain professions that you can work with only job offer.
I believe it is the same in the opposite direction.
But you should google it.
