Great to know I have some company. :) Do you have any clue if our file will be processed at Ottawa? Not sure whats the norm for US based applications. However, I found out mine probably could be at Ottawa processing center since I reached out to them asking about my PCC submission (since I did not submit all upfront), they responded.

Yes, all us applicants are processed in Ottawa.

As you see the US applications are processed at CPC-O

Glad to know that I have company with similar time lines. I did not get any updates about my application after AOR. I need to update my address in a couple of weeks. Planning to ask which visa office is processing my case when I update my address.

Most likely Ottawa as wicaact pointed out. That makes sense since I presume that is the only one in proximity for us since Buffalo office closed sometime ago.

Lets keep each other posted on progress. Good luck!

Just curious about the recent processing trend for MR requests from Ottawa. I gather from several forums its under 2 months from AOR and some report more than that. So hard to speculate when and what to expect on next phase...Is it to anyones knowledge?

You will receive medical request about 1 year after you submit your application, that is what you can expect.
After medical, it's about 2-3 months to issue the permanent resident visa.

The reason why medical request is so late is that medical result only valid for a year, and currently the processing time is about 16months. If you do a medical too early, your medical will soon be expired when the visa is issued, and you need to redo the medical again, this is actually help you to save money and time.

I appreciate the feedback, but I think the 16 months processing time is not indicative of the actual time involved in the PR process or a hard timeline they have to meet for paper applications. That's only an estimation of how long it took in retro across the board. I've seen status of folks with PNP paper based applications receiving MR within a month to over an year from AOR depending on visa office and also, heavily case specific. Their service standard warrants processing 11 months (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/service-standards/prov.asp) so didn't follow the rationale for delaying MR for an year.

All I would say is lets hope and pray for the best.

If your application is processed in Canada, that is the situation, most applications are finalized around 15 to 16 months, be prepared to wait that long time. Overseas office can be shorter. 11 months is the standard but cic never meet this time at all.

Ok. We don't have control over it anyways, so lets not stress out. Sooner or later will get it.

hey Guys,

I am in US at the moment and got my SINP nomination (OID) day before yesterday.
Scenario with me, though I am in US, I am moving to Australia for good (PR) in next month and planning to send my papers to CIC from Sydney, Australia.

My questions is, Can I send all my documents now from US except US PCC (FBI CJIS) and rest of the PCC (India and Australia) ?

Appreciate your inputs

Thanks,
Vir
