I am bit confused I got both the reports but CBSA has only 4 exit records for me. While I have US records and it has some extra dates. For residence Calculator I should enter US/Canada both ?

Also, While I was in USA..I went to UAE as well but returned to USA and later Came to Canada by Highway.

Does this UAE considered as outside of USA first and since I was already outside of Canada by being in USA. I should only put dates with trips directly to-from Canada/USA or Canada/OtherCountry right ? not Canada/USA/UAE/USA/Canada ?

Please Clarify.

In the residence calculator, you need to enter the dates when you left Canada and re-entered Canada.

This is what the Residence Calculator says:

Note: If you visited more than one country during the same absence, list the first country in 'Destination' and list the other countries in the 'Reason' field.

I would add: it is not merely important but absolutely mandatory to accurately report ALL dates of exit from and entry into Canada, regardless of what any particular record indicates.

Records like those obtained from CBSA or the U.S. can help a PR with reconstructing travel dates. This would typically be for a PR who failed to keep complete and accurate records of travel dates concurrent with the travel. The records obtained from the government should not be relied upon to be complete. The citizenship applicant's declarations of travel in the residency calculation, in contrast, must be complete.

Such records are almost always accurate in so far as the events recorded, it is just that not all entries or exits are necessarily captured . Even though more recently the trend is for these to be more completely captured, and for many the records are complete . . . but again, since the citizenship applicant has the obligation to accurately report all travel abroad, regardless of what any given record indicates, the applicant should make a concerted effort to make sure every trip is accurately reported and thus should not rely entirely on records such as those which may be obtained from CBSA or the U.S.
