I need some information urgently. My husband lives with me and I am a canadian citizen. His PR expired
2008 and he recently wanted to cancel his PR and sent letter with all documents to the canadian embassy.

We have received a reply. he has been asked to CONFIRM IF HE IS HAVE OR HAVE NOT BEEN ACCOMPANYING HIS CANADIAN SPOUSE FOR MORE THAN 730 DAYS IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS.

We live together. Now to prove that, do I have to send my passport to the Canadian embassy. WHAT
KIND OF PROOF THEY WILL ASK US? WILL THE IMMIGRATION OFFICERS CHECK WHEN WE LAND IN
CANADA MY PAST LANDING RECORDS (assuming my husband will be issued a travel doc and we will have to travel together.)

Has anyone faced a similar situation and can share the experience. Can someone share the experience please.
thanks

Show something like bank letters / statements / bills that have the names of your spouse and yourself and an address on it. Better yet if possible, ask your bank manager to write a letter that confirms you and your spouse are keeping that account for those years while both of you were outside Canada.

Since both of you are living together, why would your husband want to cancel his PR?
