Hi Folks,

My family is Panamanian, and we need to get our visas expedited. Our plane leaves in about 2 weeks, so we don't have the 15 working days that it normally takes. Abriggs.com says they can get it turned around in about 7 working days. I'm wondering if there's another company out there that might be able to do it even faster? Any suggestions would be *greatly* appreciated!

thanks!

I don't believe any company can guarantee a visa workaround time. Check this link for turnaround time

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp

The above doesn't include days if meds is required

Thanks User828 - that's a useful link. Yep, I know that no company can guarantee a turnaround time. However, I was hoping to find one that has access to a Canadian govt. office that might have very quick turnaround times. I thought perhaps one in Canada might be best, but perhaps they don't even issue visas in Canada.

You can send the application to the case processing office in Ottawa (in Canada) if you are already in Canada on a visitor visa and wish to obtain a new visitor visa for re-entry before you leave Canada.

Otherwise "you must send your application to the Canadian visa office in the country or region where you live".

Just took a quick look at their site. The services they provide are for people who are living in the US (on a valid long-term US visa) and wish to visit Canada. These individuals qualify to apply through the US office because they are legally living in the US.

Just to add - if abriggs said that they could put your visas through the US office even thought you don't live there - I have no idea how they would do that.

If you are visiting NY, then it's a different story but even then they would ask the reason behind applying from there and prefer to apply from Home Country. Since you want it expedited, it defeats the whole purpose

I wasn't misguiding you - I have traveled a lot and been through different visa processes and when you come to a forum, you are open to different replies else you should consult a professional

Good luck

thanks everyone for your replies. i'll call abriggs on monday to clear this up.

user828, my apologies. It turns out you were quite right, or at least your comment has merit.

so, looks like i'm pretty much up the creek in terms of getting the visas expedited? our flight leaves on july 15th. :(

Apply with a request to expedite, with flight details. No harm in trying
