Restoration of status
You may seek restoration within 90 days after your status as a visitor, student or worker has been lost, because you failed to comply with one or more of the following conditions:
You changed the type of studies, educational institution, location of studies, or times and periods of studies without applying to change these conditions on your study permit if they were specified on your study permit.


like I have valid TRV & Study permit till June 2015...and I defer my admission from May 2014 to January 2015 intake...I am currently back home....

Deducing from the information you have put across, it's clear that your study permit has been revoked for not seeking permit from CIC before you went ahead to defer your starting intake of May 2014 to January 2015. However you have been given 90 days to apply for restoration of your study permit.

It's for the students with study permit after June 01, 2014 and student currently in Canada.

I don't think you break any rules...
