Hello! Please help me! My work permit expired on February 4, 2011 and my employer already applied for a Work Permit Extension it was submitted December 17, 2010, the problem is when I called CIC for the status of my application they said that I am missing Page 3 of the application form and they are sending me back my application.

Here's the problem, they said they have sent me a letter yesterday(it will probably take 7 days to arrive) and Restoration Period is 90 days (which means I have until May 5, 2011 to apply for restoration) do I have to wait for the letter to arrive? or should I apply for restoration before May 5, 2011. Anyone please help!

Thank You!

Restoration period is 90 days from the date you receive the letter, not the date of your original permit expiry.

5.8. Restoration (Includes instructions found in OB 130)
If a visitor, worker or student has lost their status, they may apply to reinstate or restore their
status in accordance with R182. This regulation only applies if the temporary resident has not
been out of status for more than 90 days, and they have not failed to comply with the specified
conditions.
If an applicant applies to renew their visitor status, or their work or study permit, after their
temporary resident status has expired, but within the 90-day restoration period, CPC-Vegreville
will inform them that they must also apply for restoration of their status, if they have not already
done so. The applicant will then have 90 days from the date of notification to submit their
restoration application and the corresponding fee, which is presently $200 [R306].

Correct. The applicant will then have 90 days from the date of notification to submit their

In this instance, the OP will received notification to apply for restoration in their refusal letter. So the only argument is about when the 90 days starts is date of receipt (by applicant) or date on the letter.
