Hello Everyone and thanks in advance.

I recently went to get my medical done of Canadian immigration and the people at the medical centre told me to get an IME number.

I searched all the documentation provided to me by the visa office but couldn't find the IME number.

My question is how to find this IME number. Is it the same as UCI number?

IME stands for Immigration Medical Examination no. You can find it on IMM1017 form which you received from CIC to perform Medical Test.

Hi,
I recently received my ITA and as part of new eAPR, I need to upload upfront medical exam report for myself as well as dependent. The nearest hospital personnel says that to perform medical exam, main applicant may or may not have IME number but dependent applicant must have IME number issued by CIC/ Visa office to perform medical exam.
Could you please let me know how can I get the IME number for myself and /or for dependent applicant.

You need to tell them that this is "Upfront medicals" and you are applying for the first time, so you do not have a UCI or IME. Also email them your ITA. Then they will give you appointment.

thank you for the quick reply.
When I mentioned that I am applying for the first time and I do not have a UCI or IME, they said for main applicant it is fine, but for dependent applicant they can perform medical exam only after getting IME.

Even dependants need to do upfront medicals, this is what I know. Since I am a single applicant, I cannot confirm this query.
Kindly wait for someone else to confirm whether to wait for IME or not.

for EE PR application you do not need IME. All you need is your EE application profile numer (same as your EE profile on which you got ITA). After medical is done every member of the family will get his own UMI. You will get sheet with information, when medical was done and with that UMI number. That sheet you will then scan and upload in your application.

I was on medicals with my husband and nobody wanted IME from me. They took my ITA letter as evidence for upfront medical (but if you have PNP for EE, you can even try with that and you EE number - because then you are sure to get ITA next draw).

Thank you. I will provide the ITA letter and also the printout where it says all family member has to go through upfront medical exam and request for the exam.
