URGENT : Visa expiry date

Dear all,

I have a big concern about my TRV (student visa). I'm planning to go to my home country for holidays ( Dec 15th) for my wedding. I renewed my passport because the expiry date of it was in less that 6 month after the date I am planning to come back to Canada. Around one month ago, I applied for study permit extension, and I am still waiting for it. My current TRV is still valid until April 2018, and I'll come back to Canada on January 10th, 2018. I am wondering if I can use my current visa to travel four months before the expiry date of my visa, or I must apply for a new TRV again? Is there any rules about the expriry date of TRV?

Thanks for your prompt reply. Is there any possibility that the border officer doesn't let me to enter Canada because my TRV expiry date is in less than six months? By the way, can I have my TRV in my expired passport along with my new passport?

u shouldnt have any problems I traveled within one month of expiry and having study visa and a work permit. u should keep both ur passports with u when they start looking for visa on new passport point them to the old passport visa.
