Anyone please help out with info.
I have applied to NAIT in early June 2013 for winter 2014 admission; they have assessed my certificate. I have the required %.
My concerns:
1. I need about 9 weeks visa application time.
2. I have not heard from NAIT about the status of my application
3. From experience, does anyone knows when LOA is sent after assessment is done (my assessment has been done since mid-July)
4. I heard a rumour that CIC does not give visa to study for a two year diploma, how true is this?
5. Is there any forum, where one can meet those who have successfully scaled through this similar cases and eventually become NAIT student?
6. And finally, what are the possibilities of getting jobs even while studying at NAIT?

PS: Ask this respectfully because I dont know, so please respect my ignorance :)

That's a load of bollocks. Study Permits are given (if approved) to studies longer than 6 months. If your coures is longer than 6 months you need a permit. If your course is shorter than 6 months, you don't need a permit.

You can work on campus without a workpermit. After 6 months of studies with good grades, you can apply for an off campus work permit. If approved you can work 20hrs off campus.

Respectfully, if you are smart enough to have grades good enough to be accepted to collage then you are smart enough to find out most of the answers yourself. Start reading the study section at the CIC website.

Hi,

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate your response.
There is no man who knows all. I asked here because I want to know more or get additional info.
So being "smart enough" does not determine the level of information one gets from people's experience...that is why I am asking here...apparently, I have checked the CIC website uncountable times.

But hey, I appreciate your response.

And kindly note, do mock people's ignorance..."a question asked in this case, is almost solved..."

Much cheers

I'm not mocking ignorance. I've asked questions here myself. However, a lot can be found on the official websites, like the college website (in regards to college), or CIC or CBSA or the various provinces websites regarding driving license. The information is out there.

We're not going to be served answers in college, we're going to have to work hard for them. And that's what I'm saying, if we're smart enough to be accepted to college then we're smart enough to find most of the answers.

Thank you. Very well noted.

Hi,
Thank you for your comment.
I applied early June 2013 for Winter 2014.
My documents were received and stored on the MyPortal about mid-June.
Assessment was posted mid-July; and last week, there was a change of status from "Applicant" to "On Hold", "Pending Admissions Decision".
I need about 9 weeks for Visa appl.
Your response would be gratefully appreciated.

I have applied for winter intake too on 23rd june. And I paid for assessment yesterday.
I had emailed them last week to which they replied that it take minimum of 6 weeks after assessment.
Its best to email them, or call. Even you can have live chat from Monday to Friday... thats best.
