urgent - Time period sponsor can spend outside canada while sponsoring spouse

Hi All ,

I have filed sponsorship for my spouse in dec 2008 which has been now transferred and currently under process in islamabad Canadian high comission . Now due to my wife pregnancy i have left canada in may 2009 to be with her in pakistan and my intention is to stay till my child get born and then process his/her application too and bring the entire family once the immigration is done .Can any one please answer me Does it has any effect on my spouse sponsorship application for canadian immigration ?

Would it matter if he was a PR? cuz I thought a PR would have to remain in Canada while the application was being processed ... not sure if this is applicable here though.

True good point I made the assumption he was a Citizen. If he is a PR he would have to remain in Canada for the whole sponsorship/application process.
