Hello,
This is an urgent question to find out some basic things about applying to canada for a student visa.
Please see below some facts on the application:
1. Applicant already has an F1 student US visa
2. Going to a reputable university in Quebec for 6 months to study
3. Acceptance has come
4. Will be applying for study permit and TRV from home country: Pakistan
The question is:
1. When I apply for the study permit and Temporary Resident Visa, how long can it approximately take for the visa to arrive?
2. I will be applying for the study permit soon but I will need my passport in the middle for traveling. So the most important question is, at what stage is the passport required from the applicant? and how long does the canadian embassy keep the passport? Is it like the US visa that they take passport at interview and don't give it back for 2 months, till they wish to reject or accept your application?
3. If my passport is with the Canadian Embassy and I need it for travelling in the middle, can I request the embassy to give it to me for sometime so I can travel? Or will that affect the processing of my case?
Am sorry if my questions are too basic, but these questions are urgent and I would appreciate any and all help in getting some idea about these issues.
