Urgent!! Status Restoration

Hello,

I have received the refusal of my work permit extension application as I did not have an Lmia approval.
Now I am planning to restore my status & CIC says I have 90 days to apply for restoration.

Can you please help me with the questions below:

Should I apply for restoration as a visitor or as a student?
I will get admission into courses starting next January but is student visa a better option than visitor's request in my case?
In order to apply as a visitor how much funds do I need to show them and how long can I ask the visitor's visa for?

I am eligible candidate for express entry under CEC with score 439.

Hi palaman4,

visitor or student visa is totally up to you based on your future intention if you want to settle in canada permanently or not and also based on how much money you have,studying in canada is expensive compared to applying for a visitor visa which is usually valid for no longer then 6 months that can be extended giving that you still meet the requirements of the program but a student visa does come with other benefits depends on the lenght of your program and the type of courses.please keep in mind that visitor visa does not allow you to work at all while student might under some circumstances.

Yes even I am willing to apply as a visitor for 6 month.
I know that student visa is a more complicated process and I don't want to enrol in studies again.
But does applying as a student than visitor makes my application for restoration look better?
How much money do I need to show for visitor's visa?

I have a question, can we apply for BOWP in restoration status if one has a VALID AOR from CEC through express entry?

Hi crazydesifool,

unfortunately you can not apply for BOWP when your work permit has expired even though you had received AOR for your CEC application.you can read about it in cic website.

my bf applied work permit last march 4, 2015 and until now he havent recieve the decision for his work permit so he decided to phone last week... but the officer told him the result has been sent out to him last june 4 and yet he havent recieve it yet... the officer did not told him if the work permit is approve or not.... i was thinking what if the application is refuse? so if thats case from june 4 to september 4 is already pass 90 days.... can he able to apply visitor in this scenario? and what is the best to apply online or paper app... im kinda confuse now to his status for he cant afford to go home as well... please help!

I answered in your other thread. Your boyfriend needs to find out what decision was made on his work permit application - and the date of that decision if he was refused. It may be too late to apply for anythning within Canada. His only option may be to leave Canada. However it's impossible to say without knowing the results of his application and the date on which that decision was made. He needs to get this information.

there is not Guaranty that you get 6 month of visitor ext. i got only one month on visitor when i got my restoration!

Would you mind sharing with me the documents you included during your restoration application? How much fees did you pay? Just the $200 or you $200 (restoration) + $75 (visitor visa extension fee?). How long did this process take?
