Urgent - Returning Canada using work permit and not working with the employer

Hello All,

I have valid work permit and re-entry visa until 30 September 2017. However, my term with the company is going to end this month end due to the financial problem. Hence, I cannot work from next month. I am planning to go back to my country next month and will return in November. My question is can I use the work permit and re-entry visa (valid until September 2017, but not working with the employer in the work permit) to enter Canada again if I leave next month. Is it possible.

Expert please advice me.

Yes. You can even stay in Canada until the work permit expires. But you cannot work for any other employer until you get a new work permit.

I am a postdoc and it is exempt from LIMA...

Thanks for your reply. I dont want to work with another employer. I want to visit my family and come back to canada using same WP.
