urgent reply needed: expired visa

hello,
i have applied for PR in the LCP but my visa and work permit is expiring in apr 2014. since am not sure when my landed status will be granted especially with the long processing times, i might need to renew my visa. is it possible for me to renew the visa under LCp? since i got my owp in dec 2011, i am currently working as a registered nurse in a hospital and my employer also wanted to apply for PR on my behalf under the skilled work program. But since i already have one PR application going under LCP, i dont want to have to submit a second one. But with my visa and work permit expiring next year, i am confused as to my next step.
please answer if you have similar experience or answers

Renew your working permit 3 to 4 months before it expires,check CIC on how to renew work permit and for the requirements.
For your visa its not a problem even if it expires as long as you remain here in Canada, you need to apply for a new visa if you plan to go out from Canada for vacations or you visit your home country.
All the requirements and procedures for renewing working permit and visa are in the CIC website.
