Urgent question for IELTS Exam expiry

Hello,

I got EE invitation last draw, but I am really worried and need help.

My IELTS exam was in 2013 and will expire in few days.

At the time of the invitation the exam was valid and it is still valid for more few days.

I have another exam score in 2015 but it is less than the one on the profile that gave me the high score so I could not use it.

Also I will take another exam after 10 days.

Now, I read on CIC website:

""Note: Your test results must be valid when you complete your Express Entry profile, and when you apply for permanent residence.

The profile is valid for 12 months. You should make sure that your language test results are valid for at least the same number of days.

If your test results expire soon, you should re-take the test and update your Express Entry profile with your new test results.""

I feel I have 3 options:

1) Apply with the old exam score before being expired (will try to submit the application tomorrow).

2) Wait until I have the new exam result and If it is the same or higher score, I will put the new exam score in the application.

3) Decline the application. ( I am not sure if this is a good decision or not).

The second option will be risky as I can't guarantee the score will be better and also if I chose to wait, the old exam would expire and I could not defend that situation.

If somebody can give me a better path forward, I would appreciate that.

Please advise as I am in real confusion.

Thanks

Thanks Asivad Anac

Should you advice me to say something in the explanation letter, or just don't mention anything as the exam is valid on the date of applying.

Is it a good idea to put the new exam score (less score) as a support to the old exam ???

There is nothing to explain. Just submit your application before your old IELTS score expires and do not mention the latest attempt anywhere.

Absolutely right! The only requirement is, as you can see, that your scores be valid 1) when you create your EE profile and 2) when you submit your PR application. If you can submit before they expire, do it!

My partner's and my scores expired between those two dates. We could not submit our application earlier, as we had to wait to take our medical exams and couldn't get an earlier appointment. Knowing this was coming up, we had applied to retake IELTS before we got our ITA. We retook the exam while waiting for our medical appointments, and, luckily, our scores remained the same. In the end, we had different IELTS reference numbers on our EE application and PR application, but it didn't seem to matter as it was never questioned.

Good luck!

HI Dear,

I got ITA today under Express entry and my CRS Points are 463.
My spouse IELTS expires in next two days so my points would decrease to 451 and this cut of is for 461. please advise if i can submit the application or not.

Because in my ITA it is written that if your situation changes and points decreased than cut of than your application can get refused.

please advise....

thanks.

vivmehta,

It is stated on the Language testing—Skilled immigrants (Express Entry) page that :
Your test results must be valid (less than two years old) when you complete your Express Entry profile, and when you apply for permanent residence.

Submitting your application after the expiry date would probably lead to losing some points as stated in the ITA.

I do not know if it is possible for you to apply before the expiry date or not.

Please wait for experts to recommend a better advice.
You score is good and you can retake the exam in order to apply with a valid one.
Wish you all the best.
