I have sent the citizenship applications for my self, my wife and my 3 children on April 21, 2015 through fedex to NS and CIC received it on April 23... I noted yesterday that there is a typo in the application date on all my Kids applications( date was written as April 21, 2012 instead of April 21, 2015)... I sent a clarification letter along with my kids applications only( without supporting documents) to CIC yesterday and they should receive it in 2 days... Now my questions:
1- I'm afraid that CIC may return my original applications late in June or July and when I resubmit it, I may fall under the new law( 4 years out of 6)... Is there any thing I can do to avoid that? Should I resend all applications with supporting documents again ?
2- how CIC should deal with this situation? On their portal they mentioned that in this scenario the applications will be returned if the application date was stale (90 days) but I'm not sure if my clarification letter and new applications sent later may help..
3- when I'm expected to receive a feedback or an acknowledgment letter? Is it gonna be by mail or email?

Your answer is greatly appreciated

Hi,

Don't worry too much, some people reported on the forum that when a mistake has been done on the application, CIC returned their application within only few days. Expect to receive your application next week or so. Get your new documents ready and ship them as soon as you receive your application back from CIC. We still have about 2 months before the new rules comes into action.
If it was a year ago, I would have told you that it might take few months before you receive your application back, but in April 2015, the AOR are fired from CIC pretty quickly (around 15days for many people).

Good luck.

PS: I sent my application on April 21st. And expecting my AOR (if nothing wrong with my application) in +/- 10 to 15 days.

Dear Hany_Sams
Not want to discourage you but many chances that your application will return but good thing is now a days AOR time line is round 30 days so you will get it in May if return. If you write your email in application then will get AOR by email.

Resend new applications, start all over, unless you wanna take chances and hope they send it back before new law takes effect.

Thanks folks for your reply... Most appreciated. I'm thinking to wait for about 10 days and see if they either return our applications or send acknowledgment, if nothing happened, I may resend all applications and support documents and start over again, definitely will attach a cover letter to explain situation and why I'm resending.. Hope this makes sense.

Hi folks,
Please see my original post for background. So far I did not get any reply from CIC, I have also heared from their automated voice system today that they have not processed yet citizenship applications received after April 10. My question is that, should I re-send them all applications again with supporting docs? Would that help to avoid falling under the new rule or it may delay my processing timeline. I need an honest advise please. I'm checking my email every hour and my mailbox every day anxiously with no progress ???
