Hi, this question is asked for my brother. He is 15 years old, and had studied one year in Canada as an international student. His study permit and passport is expired March,2014.
He went back to China this summer and renewed his passport. The person from the Canada visa application centre ask him to go to the The Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai for move the multiple re-entry permit from the old passport to the new passport. He did that and got the two passport back.
One thing strange is the study permit was stapled in the old passport. When he got two passports back, the study permit is not in any of the two passports. He had asked the stuff worked in the Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai, the stuff said he will not need the study permit, only the multiple re-entry permit in new passport is fine.
I am comfused that the study permit should be the proof of his official identity in Canada right? Does the policy changed?
Thanks in advance!
