If one doesnt receive any assistance filling in the forms, should they leave question 11 (blank) or still write N/A?

No need for N/A -- the instructions clearly state to complete only if your received help (i.e. if you clicked Yes to the checkbox).

"If you do not have an answer to a question, and there are no instructions for it on the form or in the Instruction Guide, write “not applicable” or “N/A” in the space provided."

Thanks Empirical Scientist, I have no desire to get into an argument with you. A question was asked, I gave my suggestion. I remember seeing a post (cant find it) where an application was returned, because not all the fields were filled in (i.e. not marked n/a).

As we all know, some agents will not care, others will send an application back for the slightest omission. If that happens, you can argue with them and prove them wrong. Will this delay the application, perhaps, all because you want to argue that you have the right to not write N/A. Sure, I rather just write N/A and hope to not delay the application for a minor omission. Why? to me my citizenship application is more important than proving that I have a right to not write N/A.

The way I see it, if I am wrong and you are right, what harm does it do to write N/A? On the other hand, if I am right and you are wrong, what harm would it do to not write N/A?

To you, perhaps its more important that you have the right not to write N/A. And if that, by chance delays the application you are ok with that. To each their own.

Every single questions has to be answered either YES or NO. Also even you select NO in some questions which also has explanation box next to it should write N/A. There was many applicants who reported their applications was returned for just did not put N/A even they answered NO in main question and lost 2-3 month..

SHOULD write N/A, I once asked the agent and she clearly mentioned to write NA coz it indicates that you read the questions.

I left question 11 blank, as I did not receive any assistance filling the forms. My application was not returned and it's in process now.

That said, if it will give someone a piece of mind to write, 'N/A' in the box for question 11, I don't see how that will be a problem.
