Hi I have the below question . I am WP in Canada and my spouse is also with me. We need to apply for Indian PCC for express entry.

The problem is - We got married 3 years back but our parents don't know about it. And we don't want them to know as well just yet :

My passport doesn't have my spouse name and our marriage is not registered in India as well - we had got married out side India.
I had got my passport renewed last year from Canada and in that also i had listed marital status as Single.

How to proceed with PCC -form in BLS is asking for Marital Status - can we just say single ?
Does BLS check as well - my spouse is on open spouse work permit in Canada.
Will it create any problem with PR process / PCC ?

If we mention as Married , cops ask about Marriage when they go for inquiry so I that's why I am hesitant in mentioning as married on the BLS form :(

Can someone please advise on how to proceed - Really stressed- Will appreciate if someone can help based on personal experience

If your passport doesn't have your spouse name, I believe you could skip adding married and put single.

However, in your spouse case, I would advise otherwise as he/she is on Spousal OWP - it would be better to add for his/her PCC.

Thanks .

Any idea if I put in single and will this create any possible issues with my PR application later ? Thats what I am worried for.
I believe the PCC doesn't mention marital status but I am not sure if IRCC validates more details from Embassy / BLS

PCC is for criminal check, not for marriage. They will check marital status based on your marriage certificate AFAIK. Consultant can confirm.

Hi everyone
Please help me,
I am married in Canada. And our parents don't know anything about our marriage.
Can i do pcc without mentioning my marital status?
Is there any impact on PR file?
What options, I have now?

Thank you

I have the same question. I married my partner from India recently. It will take 10 weeks for the marriage to get registered. What should I fill in my PCC marital status, since I have no proof of Marriage? I need the PCC for applying my citizenship and sponsoring my partner
Like you my parents are not aware of our marriage

You should mention married by the time pcc is processed your marriage will be registered
Also you don’t need to provide marriage certificate with pcc it will be needed only for your application to IRCC

there is a strong possibility that the police ‍♀️ will ask about your marriage once he visits your home address
You can either tell your parents or have some cousin / friend handle the police verification they only need money

Can you let me know as well.
Did you put single or married on your pcc.
Nd was there any problem.
Please let me know . Did you got your PR

I put married - prob was when the police went to my wife house - they told her parents so it caused some issue. I would suggest not to lie on the application - sometimes IRCC does check with the indian consulate and if does there can be serioous implications - i would suggest not to take a chance
I got my PR - there were no issues.

Ok , so basically my husband’s family know about it.

My family doesn’t know yet.
If i put married , will they ask something from my parents?
