Both. The post above answers clearly your question.(education+employment)

Its not employment; its UNEMPLOYMENT with part time study (ESL class)
Ok so you did not have any job for the last 4 years. If that's the case you need to check NO for 6F A and yes for 6F B and after that you just list the time you spent studying no need to add anything about employment or unemployment.
Note. Be prepared to answer this question on interview day: Where were you getting money from to maintain yourself?

When you were studying, mention it as studying and when you were unemployed, write those days. The dates can overlap, so don't worry about that. You have to cover whole four year period for unemployment and studies.
Both have to be mentioned separately.

If possible, provide some information so that I can provide you example.

But what if I was studying esl classes part time and unemployed both at the same time? Do i need to mention about unemployment OR i can just mention studies???

That is your call. I think you will be fine either way. Despite what the guide says, you should send transcripts of your ESL if available

Good luck

In one line you can write you were unemployed with the dates when you were unemployed.

In 2nd line you can write details about your ESL course that you were doing mentioning it was part time which you were doing on such such days of week and you can explain the same in the cover letter too to be more accurate and clear.

Good luck!

My 1st example would be:

From To Work/Education Employer or school Attended
2012-02 2015-02 2012-02-01 to 2015-02-01 Unemployed because of xxxxx reason
2013-05 2013-11 Education School Name, taking ESL classes on xxxxday, xxxxday

My 2nd example would be:

From To Work/Education Employer or school Attended
2013-12 2015-02 2013-12-01 to 2015-02-01 Unemployed because of xxxxx reason
2013-05 2013-11 Education School Name, taking ESL classes
2012-02 2013-04 2012-02-01 to 2013-04-30 Unemployed because of xxxxx reason

just mention student ( for your esl , no matter part time or full time) from date to to date.like from sept.2012 to sept.2013. and for other time period in which you are not studying instead of writing unemployed write " home maker "

It's not ESL, it's English as a Second Language, when you fill out your application.

no need to write unemployed and the reason of unemployment, just write home maker.
If you read the Q6F, it states:

If you were not employed(i.e. you were unemployed, retired, homemaker, etc) you must indicatethe reason for being unemployed and confirm the dates of your unemployment under "Work/Education" and indicate the time period.

It means the person has to specify the reason.
