Hello,
Me, my husband and our 5 yr old child have PR which expires in April 2017.
We were in Canada from August 2012 to June2013( 10 months) then we came back to India.
My husband plans to go to Canada in December 2015 and stay there, and renew PR in April 2017 and then Citizenship in subsequent years.
My Question is: Will My and my sons PR will also be renewed if he(my husband) stays in Canada and renew PR and we stay in India?
OR
Do we individually need to complete the 730 days residence in 5 years for PR renewal?
Me and my son plan to join my husband in August 2016.

Please guide..
Thanks

Each of you needs to complete 730 days in order to renew your PR cards.

If you and your sons return in June 2016 (less than 3 years outside of Canada), you can still meet the RO in order to renew.

If you return in Dec 2016 as you are planning, there is a possibility that the IO reports you for not meeting the RO in which case you could appeal but might lose if you did not have humanitarian reasons like nursing a sick parent or something along those lines. However, worst case if you were to lose your PR, your husband can sponsor you and the sons too if they are under 19 years of age.

If you don't get reported on entry for not meeting the RO, you can make good on it again by staying in Canada for 2 years straight without leaving and without trying to renew. At that point, you meet the RO again and can renew.

When your husband applies for citizenship, he can apply for your sons too as long as they are under 18 and still PR.

Dear Leon
Taking advantage of topic please give the information regarding minor citizenship application. I know there is no days obligation in minor application. In instruction of application it is mention that they should be valid PR status ,My children were out side Canada more than three year during last five year. I got citizenship can I still apply for their citizenship ??

Yes, you can apply for them but if they are currently not in Canada and get reported as they enter Canada and subsequently lose their PR status, they would not be able to get citizenship.

Thanks for reply. They are currently here for Last 14 month except summer holidays in home country. I got some confusion regarding following lines in instructions of Minor application. Lines are ( the minor must be permanent resident of canada ,not have lost that status and have no unfulfilled condition relating to this status.)
Once again thanks for your kind advice. Regards
