Hi!
Fortunately we got our PPR today along with the RPRF. (thank god)

They write the passport has to be valid for a year or longer. My husbands is just valid until mid- January 2010, just 8 month...
Can we send them in or will they not issue the visa?
We are not able to get new passport within the 60 days...

Anyone experience?
Thanks!

First, congratulations!!!!

I want to know why it will take 60 days for you to get a new passport? Honestly, I think it is advisable to get a new passport. You may run the risk of the passport being rejected and you will be required to comply with the requirement if you do send the existing one.

If you can correspond or call them to explain that you may have to seek for an extension of time to submit the passport as the fell below the required period of validity. If they say it is fine, then you are good to go.
But think about this, if the passport is expiring in 8 months, there is an urgent need to renew the same. Why? Per the normal time table, the CIC may issue the PR visa & COPR within 6 weeks or 1 1/2 months.
As such, the passport shall then be 6 1/2 months till expiration. As far as i know, immigration will not allow you to fly out of the country if your passport does not have at least 6 months validity left. Leaving for canada 15 days after issuance of the visa is kinda tight....

Since this is the last requirement, you might as well deal with it, but let them know about it.

A questions if you don't mind:

1. when did you complete the medical, documents and payment of the ROPR Fee? and how long from that time did you get a passport request? and which CIC office?

Thanks so much and congratulations!!!!

Hi edo-san.
Thank you! I can't tell you how happy we are. If you just follow to read some of my older posts u will know why...

The problem is solved, BTW. I wrote an email to them and they called back the same day. We discussed the situation and they first thought that we would need the PP for our vaccation. But I tried to tell them that we are not able to apply for a new one before the end of June in Ottawa. They said, that the visa will be issued and valid until Jan, 26, 2010. In our case we could send them in yesterday and the will issue the visa until Jan 18th 2010. I just said that that is good enough for me.
In summer we want to visit someone and have to drive through Ottawa anyway. There is no sence in driving now. More than 1000 km. We will just drive to the next border, that's 100 km only and land befor that date anyway...
We applied under PNP, File in process until end of dec. 2008, medicals end of jan 2009, more documents requested in mid march 2009, PPR along with RPRF and new passport pictures yesterday!

And, if someone remebers me writing that it would be so nice to get that letter to my birthday (was in April) -
Today is my hubbys BD. So he's principal applicant and it was HIS BD present.
I just can't stop smiling! I can't!

I think I do remember now.

Smile all you want because you deserve it. God is good. Congratulations again.
In my case, I submitted, paid and done with medical last April 15, 2009. I am waiting for the passport request which I pray will come soon.

I am truly happy for you.

Cheers!
