URGENT PLZ HELP: Ontario PGWP & Masters PNP..

Hi guys.. I am about to finish my last semester of a Masters program from Ontario and going to apply for PGWP as well as Ontario Masters PNP program for getting PR.. and have some queries regarding that...

1) PGWP: After finishing my course in April end, I wanted to go back to my home country for 2 months (as my study permit is valid upto September) but some people told me to first apply for PGWP and only once I get it I should leave the country for holidays, otherwise I might have a problem entering Canada back if the IO at airport come to know that I've finished my studies already.. is that right? So based on that, I will be applying and getting PGWP and only then leave Canada for holidays for 2-3 months. There would be no problem then, right?

2) Masters PNP/PR: Next is Masters PNP, now I could apply for that as well after finishing studies but their website says it could take upto 90 days to get nomination certificate, so I was thinking I can apply for PNP after returning from holidays. Would that be okay?

SIN number: Does anyone know when should I apply for something called SIN number?? And how long does it take to get it?

1.Once you get your official grades apply for PGWP and go on vacation it takes approximately 45 days.
2.Once you get your grades file PNP in the mean time get all documents ready for that refer Ontario PNP website.
3.For SIN go to service Canada they will give you in 2min.

Thank you so much.. regarding your answers:

1. What if I go on 60 day vacation and they approve my PGWP before that and mail me the documents to Canadian address and I am not present?
2. Do you know if Masters PNP is affected by Express Entry program or is that a different stream altogether and I don't need to worry about it since I have Masters degree? I heard many PGWP are terrified of the EE program as they are in the same pool of applicants or something.

For PGWP it takes approximately 45-60 days once it is approved in 4-5 days you will receive document by mail to Canadian address.other thing is as your visa is getting expired in Aug at port of entry you might get trouble mostly while coming back because you will have only 1 month valid visa at that time.If I were you I will.not take chance to go home .If you ask me I would suggest you to apply for PGWP stay in Canada you once you get work permit review your visa it takes again 3weeks and plan to go in Aug like that.


It takes at least 4-5months to get PNP certificate ppl who applied in November still they did not get.Express entry is something different it has nothing to do with PNP

Oh okay, so once I get my PGWP, then I have to renew my TRV too? Online? Is there some other type of visa that would be issued to me?

Also, I read somewhere that PGWP holders are not allowed to leave Canada for extended periods of time (>1 month), if that is true, won't I get into trouble if I go back home for maybe 3-4 months in August?

If I stay till August, I'm considering applying for the PNP too.. do you think that's a good idea because you never know when they may change rules and put my MASTERS GRAD stream into Express Entry pool and screw up my chances? But then I'm worried, can I travel outside Canada while PNP is in process???

you have only one option TRV after getting your PGWP. There is no restriction its upto you, once you get TRV you can travel as long as you want,TRV is also online .That would be a good idea to apply PNP once you get your official grades, you can travel when it is in-process.
