I have applied for spousal PR and I received AOR2 and file transfer confirmation. However, I just realised that I overlooked a question and answered no to "Have you been denied admission to Canada or any other country?".
Here was the situation. I was in the US on a work visa, had changed employers and during the break between jobs visited Canada by road. On trying to return to US by road, the officers wanted a particular document for re-entry that I was missing. I was asked to go back to Canada and I entered US later on, also got my H1B visa stamped later and traveled across US and Canada by road several times.

Since I held a valid US visa after this incident, should have i still answered yes to the question asked?

If so, is there any way I can change it now? Can I mail them an affidavit describing this incident?

I am really worried this will cause issues and my PR could be delayed/denied.

Please help.

This happened in Jan 2016. I re-entered US 20 days later and also did my H1B visa stamping in March.
its totally ok then...it wont affect your application..but if you want to be at safe side just email them through webform about your situation..

Thanks a ton guys! I cried my eyes out the last couple of hours thinking this was now a case of misrepresentation.
Would you suggest just an email through webform or an amended sched A form?

Include the corrected form when you email them. It's much faster to email your local VO than do it through webform now. Of course, be apologetic when you email them of your mistake.

Email local VO with amended Schedule A form first. Then for peace of mind, you can do it via webform too. But as you've said you had aor2 already so it will make much more sense to let your local vo know of this situation first.

Good luck. This should be fine as long as you corrected your mistake before they find it out. I know a lot of people who sent an amended Sched A with the same mistake as you did and had already landed in Canada. No worries, just do it asap.

Fyi, in the Sched A form you'd be given the chance/space to explain the circumstances of why you were refused entry to Canada, so do your best and explain it thoroughly (include dates, location, etc) without them needing to ask you for additional, elaborate details of the refusal. Huh. I'm not making much sense now. Anyway, you get what I mean. It's late. I'm outta here. Good luck.

I mailed my VO the updated form, emailed it and also uploaded it using the webform. Hoping for the best now!

Could you tell me at what point would they start looking at the Sched A form? Is it after the eligibility has passed and my background check starts?

Hi All,

Reopening this thread to allay my concerns.
Like suggested I sent the amended sched A to my VO before they found out anything on July 19th. I did not receive any response. Later in September I was asked for more wedding photos and no update after I sent them.
1) Am I past the check for misrepresentation and can calm my nerves?
2) If not, can I still be accused of misrepresentation although I sent an amended sched a within a month of sending the original?

Please help me out! I am extremely nervous.
