Hi. I'm going to apply for a canada visa at the CGC in Los Angeles. However, I'm still not sure how to answer some of the questions in the application documents. Can anyone help?

1) If my purpose of visit is tourism but I will be staying at my friend's house (so I wrote down my friend's address for the address in Canada), do I need to ask my friend to write a letter of invitation?
2) Under the previous travel section, do I need to list all of the months and years that I have been to a certain country? For example: If I often visit Singapore, do I need to list down all the months and years that I visited Singapore or just the most recent one?
3) Will providing a return ticket speed up the process? I'm planning on going on the 18th of March. However, I'm not sure whether I'll be able to receive the visa before that, so I still haven't booked my ticket yet.
4) If I'm a student, under the employment section, do I need to write student as current and previous activities and all the schools that I have attended?

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

i am neither an expert on getting visas nor i have more information than senior members of this website;however, if i were you i would do this:
1) i would not get an invitation letter and i would just state his adress.if there is a space available, i would explain how i know the host.
2)if they are asking for all of them, state all of them. if space is not enough, write more on a seperate page and attach it on the back of that sheet.
3)returning ticket is kind of a proof that you will get back because if you are applying for a visa one of the most important thing they want to know if you will come back or not...if your other proofs are strong, like your ties, you may not attach it but if i were you, i would attach it and not take risk. the more you prove them, the more likely you will get you want.
i applied for visa in LA before and received my passport back in 2 weeks with visa after i sent it by mail. but who can guarantee 2 weeks...depends on the business of the visa office and the mailing list. i think in their website they were saying ''allow 30 business days'' before you make a call...so your call.
5) yes, write student if you are and indicate the institutions that you ve attended.the more the merrier :)
also write a letter about why you re travelıng to canada and dont forget to add your fınancıal support sheets lıke how much you have ın the bank etc...
