Hi Guys
CIC had sent me a test invitation after which I changed my address on the cic webiste as I moved to my friend's apartment.

Now I have got a new job which is quite far from the address that I had changed... I will also move my kids to the new place so will have to enroll them in the school belonging to the new address.

As I have already received the test invitation, is it required for me to change the address again?

Please let me know your input.

NOT required...it is suggested..that too for your convenience. I flew from a different province to go to the test where I originally lived in order to not transfer my file as that would add to the delay.

Hie there

Just contact Canada post and have them forward all your mail to your new address. I wouldn't bother contacting CIC, their beaurocracy just gets in the way. Canada Post is the best way to handle address changes, for a fee they will forward your mail to your new address and you wont have to worry at all. CIC operates worse than a third world immigration office.

I definitely agree with Eminem. I had to move out of the country temporary during my citizenship process and during that time, I had all my mails forwarded abroad. Everything went well with Canada post in my case and I received all my citizenship notice on time.

Glad to hear that buddy! Infact I think people should instead contact Canada Post instead of CIC when making addresss changes. That way you save yourself so much worry and inconveniances since CIC has not migrated to the world of IT.

For how long Canada Post can forward your mail. 1 month? 2? 3? what's the fee?
