One of my friend is in a very difficult situation and he needs an advice. His WP is expiring in 2 weeks and his current employer denied filing for an LMO. But he managed to find another employer who can file for an LMO but that employer is just a small company of his friend and does not know anything about the LMO process. Can someone please help him with the process of applying for an LMO. Since his friend's company is a small one, will they really be able to apply for an accelerated LMO???

Need quick advice.

I'd be surprised if it was accelerated. Look at the CIC website... It has information for employers.

Short answer? No, not eligible for ALMO.

Explanation: Has the new employer been issued at least one positive in the past two years? That's one of the conditions of accelerated LMO eligibility which from your comment seems like they haven't.

Anyway, the process is not that complicated:

On the other hand since you posted this question under CEC, I'm assuming you've ruled out Bridging Open Work Permit already?

Friends, does a small company which is planning to hire my friend be able to secure a LMO approval?
Also, he needs to guide his employer (friend) thru the LMO process. Can you please help us with some steps to proceed. Do we need to post the job ad first?

Per my understanding of this process ...Need to have the ad for two weeks and need to show recruitment effort ( getting resumes and conducting interviews etc ). to Service Canada to get Positive LMO.

Correct. I read that on the website too. One more question though. is LMO specific to the employer or location?

Usually it is specific to employers location. But it can depend on position requirements. My wp states I can travel throughout Canada as required - but very much employer specific.

Don't have a link - sorry.

Lmo are employer specific, so there is no way around that. If you receive a positive lmo and the wp is approved - it will definitely be a closed permit.

I imagine if the employer has multiple offices, there wouldn't be an issue working in them - as it's employer specific, not neceserially location.
