URGENT!!!!! NOC mistake after AOR

Hi all,

After times and times of review, I now believe that the NOC code should be 1242 (as I worked and got trained in a law consulting firm, so my main duties there were law-related, even though some office admin duties were also covered), the reason I didn't choose 1242 was because my degree is Business Admin and my title was Assistant Office Manager which I believed it should fall under 1221.

Should I raise a CSE and submit a letter of explanation to change the NOC code, and if necessary, try to provide another job ref letter (I guess my former employer would agree to sign another one)?

Guys, please, share your views and help me!

I don't know if there's an easy answer to this. If you are going to submit a webform and say that you entered the wrong NOC, you should have all documentation required to support the other NOC attached to that webform.

What the visa officer does with it is unknown to me.

Always go with the NOC which best reflects your job's duties and responsibilities.

I think you need to be careful about the work reference, if you submit another one to tailor it to this NOC or change it materially, it could cast doubt on the integrity of the document.

As for what you should do, it's unclear to be honest because you've already submitted your AOR. The NOCs come under the same occupation unit group, so i don;t know if it makes a very big difference because they're both admin-related.

It's really your call at this point, doing what you think you're most comfortable with.
