The most important thing to stay back in Canada is to get work.

Now, i do not want to disappoint you but you are targetting the wrong privinces like BC where competition is neck deep.

The only thing good with you is that you have a PGWP.
You have to make good use if it and you still have time to get things straight.

You need to look at provinces such as Nova Scotia/NB.

If I was you I would even try PEI.

You need to research what and how their PNP programs will help you.

Now once you have done your research, make a good resume and start applying for jobs in your field or other fields(NOC B/C) if you know that province will support you if you work those jobs.

You need to act now!!!

I am sorry I could not be great help but this is what I did when I finished my PG Diploma(one year course) course in Toronto.

I had SK/NS/NL on my list as I knew these provinces were not saturated. I got a call from NL employer and I didn't think twice.

LMO gives you a Closed work permit which permits you to work with a particular employer. Now, if you could get a LMO( especially now when they just overhauled the Temporary Foreign Worker Program), that would be great as it will help you get a work permit for at least another 2 years.

You said you got a full time offer. But ask the employer if he can get you an LMO. If he can then you can apply for a new WP.

If he cannot get you a LMO, you can still work for him but I do not know how you will extend your PGWP later when it is about to expire. I do not have any information on that especially now when they have recently implemented changes to the TFWP.

I just found this article for you... hope it helps:

http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/higher_skilled/students/index.shtml

Earlier, if an employer had to keep his PGWP employee, all they had to do was to apply for a PGWP LMO (a LMO which did not require Recruitment and Advertisement efforts from the employer if they wished to retain a foreigner working on PGWP).

But now, that is not the case anymore, they will have to follow the guidelines mentioned here

http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/higher_skilled/students/index.shtml

The new LMO which is known as LMIA is not based on job types but rather on the median wages of the respective province.

Hey taralshah,

what is your occupation? How many months of full time work do you have by now?

As summerr says, unfortunately the rules for extending pgwp have changed. there's no other way than adapting to it.

I wonder if it would be possible to apply for PR via CEC from outside Canada, given a situation where the applicant has completed the 12 months of fulltime work experience required but his permit has expired and consequently the applicant has left the country?
