Hi every one ,
Im expected to come to Canada by May 2025 as a family under express entry ( we got our PR ) so i have few questions to ask about my first Tax file as a new comer , we will living in Ontario :
Question 1 : My arrival date will be after April 30 ,2025 , when am expected to send my first tax file?
Question 2 : Di i need any payment slips , proof of income to add it if i was working in my home country where i paid taxes already before landing to Canada ?
Question 3: At the beginning i will not have a fixed address ( It will be Air bnb )nor a job ? so should i wait until getting a permanent address and an income to be able to file my first tax file ?
Question 4 : I have some assets in my home country and some cash , should i declare them when doing the landing ? if so How ? If not this would it cause any issue if i will sell one my properties in my home country after being in Canada as a PR ?
Question 5 : im married , so should we prepare 1 tax file as a couple or every one has to do his own separate tax file ?
Question 6 : Can i do the taxation online ? which are the best certified easy to use software then ?
Thanks in advance

It's not urgent. You have the whole year up to April 30, 2026 to file your first Canadian tax return and declare your assets and funds in your home country.

But you do need your information on how much you made in your home country to calculate how much benefit you can entitled.

Your first tax return isn’t due till next year

You must file a paper return
