Hey everyone!
I'm currently studying in Sheridan College and I had to retake classes which made me stay 2 more semesters in order to finish my program. I am finishing the program this semester April 22nd. Also meanwhile, I got accepted at UOIT. My study permit expires today, March 25. I sent my application online in February 25, a month before the expire date, but I sent an application for UOIT study permit. I got my answer today and this is what they sent me.:
"This refers to your application for a study permit received 02/25/2016. No action is being taken
to process your request for the following reasons:
[X] Issuance of study permits is limited to persons who are actively pursuing their studies at a
designated learning institution as per R220.1 (1) (b). As you are not currently registered for the
next academic term, you are not eligible for a study permit. We have withdrawn your application
as you have applied more than 90 days before the start of your program. Please submit a new
study permit application within 90 days of starting your program.
NOTE: Passports must be valid for the duration of your stay in Canada. Documents will not be
issued beyond the validity of passports."
So basically I should've applied 90 days before my program started. I immediately applied for a new SP extension. While I was applying for it, a message popped saying that I should apply today, if I won't apply today I will lose my Student Status. After I applied for it I started to get nervous about the documents I submitted. I started researching what is required for Proof of Means of Financial Support, and found out that I should've sent them bank statements for the past 4 months, meanwhile I sent a bank statement for only 1 month (my parents send me money every month).
So my questions are: 1) Should I create a new account and re-apply, considering this is my last day to apply in order not to lose my status? Or should I just wait for their response and hope they will ask me to send the correct documents? 2) And also, are Bank Statements for the past 4 months a good proof of meaning of financial support??
Thanks in advance!
