I applied for a Study Permit online and provided all f the right documents that spelled out my middle name correctly.
I have just arrived from Canada last night and I also got my study permit at immigration and during that night I found out that they misspelled my middle name on my study visa and my study permit. They misspelled my middle name by taking out the second last letter of my middle name. In my middle name it has, C*****DAO, but in my visa it spells C*****DO, it's missing an "A"
Although in my Acceptance Letter it does not state my middle name because I did not put my middle name in my university application when I first applied.
But I do have a Visitor Visa I applied for to go to Canada a few years ago and it spells my middle name correctly.
And since I was able to go through immigration, I didn't think it was a big deal since they didn't notice it.
I looked up online and it says I should apply for "Request to Amend the Record of Landing, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Valid Temporary Resident documents" (IMM 1436). I am planning on applying to correct the mistakes on my Study Permit but I am just wondering whether it will affect my studies in a few weeks. What I mean is, while this application is being processed, does this mean I am not able to study for the mistakes myCIC has made? It says it will take around a month to process my application but my university starts in around 3 weeks.
Anyone with experience or answers, please help me!

I do not have any knowledge here but common sense suggests first talking with admissions at the University to explain the situation before trying to resolve the misspelling immediately .It may be something you can resolve in due course once you start especially as is not your error. Get any response / confirmation from the uni in writing/ email if you can as opposed to just a phone call.
