Hey Guys,

I Got AOR in September, somebody just called me from Immigration Canada and asked me a few questions about my job. I have a Master's in Engineering but I have been working as a food supervisor for 2 years now. She asked me why I'm not working as an Engineer. Has that ever happened to everyone? I'm freaking out that she might reject my application.

Technically, they cannot reject you by giving that as a reason. It is imperative that your work experience is legitimate, authentic and in NOC 0/A/B but not mandatory that you work in the same (or similar) field as your education.

They might have asked that question out of curiosity/concern and possibly because they were either suspicious of your educational qualification or your work experience or both. If you haven't falsified any information about your Masters degree and/or your work experience as food supervisor, there is nothing to be worried on that front.

Thanks Asivad: No I didn't falsify any information.
Sharma 1990: No I don't have LMIA and why do you say that's a good thing?
