Urgent issue :employer letter to explain job tile

Hi Everyone

I am prepare to apply CEC and writing employer letter , I have a trouble about my job title

before apply PR , I applied my work permit ( success )

when I applied work permit I submitted two pieces of material

one is offer letter , another is employer signatory support letter .

on bother letters, it applied as Staff software developer .

but finally, I got work permit , on which the title is Software engineer .

Another thing I have emphasis is : my work permit type is others, and exempt-LMO

Which means, when I applied work permit, I never need to fill something as NOC code .

Now trouble is coming : I need apply PR

I read a series doc or post on forum , even email to noc-cnp of canada goverment.

I am 100% sure my duties can and can only used for NOC code 2283 of which several tile example are .i.e software tester

I found software tester is much closer to my job too except the duties match with mine .

In my company, there is no software tester title, they call both software tester and developer as software developer.



I start to write employee letter.

What should I do to explain above confusion. Company give a stunning title , software developer . work permit finally assign me as software engineer. Now I need apply actually is software tester !!!!!!!!!!


Other thing I want to make clear is :

when I applied work permit, My job duties is clearly and matched with software tester, in my CEC employee letter, I won't and needn't change it .

on my work permit , there is only job title , no NOC code.

I think my problem is how to explain these mess, any example , how to describe them , so the officer won't be confused too .

or if I explain more, they will be more confused. I should do nothing ? or else ? please !!!!!!!!!!11

Hi,

ok, don't worry about your job title. Your job title is not as important as the duties you perform doing your job.
If your duties match the duties for the NOC 2283, then you can go ahead and apply under this NOC.
The titles can vary, every company comes up with their own names for positions, so what matters are the duties.

ok, don't worry about your job title. Your job title is not as important as the duties you perform doing your job.
If your duties match the duties for the NOC 2283, then you can go ahead and apply under this NOC.

I am just scared because I heard of lost of cases rejected with reason , job tile and job duties is not matched.

maybe the real reject reason is , job duties not match with NOC code

Exactly, if the duties don't match the NOC you chose, then your application may be rejected.
Your application won't be rejected because your job titles differs to the title of the NOC, unless
the title is TOTALLY different.
Ie. you can't apply under NOC 2883 with a job title like "LANDSCAPER" or so. You know what I'm saying?

Ok, your employer has to write that letter, not you
But you can attach a letter of explanation where you can go ahead and explain the situation.

I'm missing the words SOFTWARE, INFORMATION SYSTEM, SCRIPT and HARDWARE in your duties. If
you want the duties to match 2283, you better make your duties sound like you're working with computers
and not other industrial products you're testing or planning.

yes, however, if you check 2173 duties, you can find that , my duties is much more closed to 2283 .

many maijor items in 2173 I never touched, such as write design doc, coding .

2283 or 2173 is fine, just make sure that you are accurate, they can check with your employer, and that the salary you are paid is reflective of the NOC median wage.
