Urgent Information needed

Hello,
My wife's PR application(family class sponsorship) status changed from " in process" to "decision made" on 20 august 2014 and the following are the details:

Permanent Residence
We received your application for permanent residence on December 20, 2013.
We started processing your application on August 5, 2014.
Medical results have been received.
A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

When will she receive the passport request? It is an out-land process from India however my wife is on a visitor visa with me in Canada and it expires on 27 september 2014.Should I wait or proceed to apply for extension of stay of visitor visa for her as it takes 25 days online.Confused, please advise? Can she get her COPR here than she having to go to India again and reenter as landed immigrant. Please advise ASAP

Congrats.
As there is no interview required then she doesnt have to go to India. Instead, She can mail her passport to the Canadian consulate and they will stamp it with the visa.
I think you cant mail your passport directly to them, by Indian law as I read from another thread, so you will have to mail it to someone there to deliver it to the consulate.

There are a few concerns here.

1. The passport request should come before a decision is made.

2. Is nvdo is your vo 9 months is way to short a time to process fully.

I would make sure that she did not get a request for more information back home. Is she did and failed to comply that would cause a negative decision. I hate to be the negative one but the information given does not sound like a positive decision.

I disagree with you this time.. They cant refuse someone without bring them to interview first. so as there is an invitation for interview then I believe it should be fine.

They definitely can refuse you without an interview. They can send a request for additional documents and base a decision on that. If the documents are not received, then the decision is usually negative.

NDVO usually requests the passport at the very beginning, so the complete lack of passport request is worrisome.

MilesAway is right, they can refuse without an interview, but this is only if either they request docs and the appilcant never sends them. Or if there is absolute clear 100% fraudulent information in the application.

If the issue is whether a relationship is genuine or not, they will almost always do an interview first before refusal.

Congradulations on DM. Anyway, you cant send passport from canada to INDIA per indian laws. It is recommended that she take a trip to INDIA. PPR is comming in 7 - 10 days after DM these days. they would send out an email for ppr. they would give you 30 days or 60 days from date of letter to submit the passport.

the process in NDVO has changes recently to IN PROCESS to Decision MADE & then PPR.

Alternatively call CIC and ask them if you could send the passport to OTTAWA or Bufflo. Not sure. call them anyway - agents can tell you what are your options....

the buffalo office is closed, and most likely cic will tell them they must send their passport where their file is being processed. Ottawa will not be able to help them because they don't have the original poster's file.
