i just received my passport requirement from visa office. But i did get married during the PR procedure.
and the office require me to declare my marriage status. anyone here know how to do that? how long bona take to add my wife in my application? here below is what the original email saids!

STEP 1: STATUS CHANGE (If none of these conditions applies to you, you may proceed to STEP 2)

Has your family composition changed since our last correspondence?

· Have you married or divorced?

· Have you given birth or adopted a child?

· Do you intend to get married or divorced prior to becoming a permanent resident?

· Do you intend to give birth or adopt a child prior to becoming a permanent resident?
If any of these conditions apply, you must inform CPC-O immediately:

CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca
You will be asked to submit evidence such as a copy of the marriage, divorce, birth or adoption certificate or a letter advising when and where the marriage, divorce, birth or adoption is expected to take place. Any new spouse and/or children must be added to your application and be found admissible to Canada before your case is finalized. Failure to declare additional dependants such as a spouse or children before you become a permanent resident could result in the cancellation of your permanent resident visa. Once your file is closed, you would be required to submit a new application and pay new processing fees. Any new application would be assessed under the Act and Regulations in force at the time of its submission.

Hi xu,

First of all you have to inform your visa office that you got married. Send an email as soon as you can. Then you don't have to wait for any response from the visa office. Mean while, fill in the application to add your spouse to the existing application, enclose all supporting documentation. Go through the check list carefully what are all the supporting documentation. Also send the appropriate fees along with your application. Once the visa office receives your application, they verify everything and send you the medical request for your wife...may be for you also (if your medicals are getting expired soon). So, once you finish the medicals, they will send you the PPR again.

I have gone thru the similar process...we had to add my new born son in my case. As there will not be any criminal/police inquires for the new born baby, all this process was done in 4.5 months in our case. But I am sure it takes longer in your case, as they have to do eligibility, criminality, back ground checks for your spouse.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

You have to Google for that info. I don't know which program you have applied for. Yes, you have to fill almost everything again...that's what we have done. The only lengthy form is IMM0008, the rest of the forms will be easy to fill them in. If you have a scanned copy of your original application that you submitted to CIC, it's very easy to fill now....just copy and paste and add any new information accordingly.

You have to follow the check list. If it's there on the check list, you have to send them.

Hi Xu ,I got married recently while my application was in received status , I have sent my marriage certificate to the Ottawa and Sydney for marital status change. My application status changed to IP on July 7th. I have emailed to CPC-CTD-Ottawa @ cic.gc.ca on July 14th but no reply yet. I am waiting for DM and PPR. I will have the same problem like you.
