Hello there
What amount of money is required to be shown for getting a student permit. My college fees is 15000 CAD a year and I'll live with my uncle there so no living expenses. I read that I'll have to show extra $10000. Is it true? So that'd mean I need around 25000$ in my bank account? As my diploma is of two years, will that mean I need to show $25000 for the second year too? thats $50000. Or do I've to show $40000? Because, I'll still have $10000 extra of first year untouched. Bottom line is: will $25000 be enough to get the permit? If anyone has successfully received the permit then it'd be great if you could tell me how much you showed?
thanks in advance.

Pay the Gic first bro, and then pay entire first year tuition fees..! Follow these two 1st.
Showing your funds apart from initial 25000$ its your wish!

ru applying under SPP? if yes then u have to get GIC
"Applications will not be accepted by VFS under the Student Partner Program without a copy of the formal GIC document issued by Scotia Bank. No wire transfers or bank remittances will be accepted as a proof of purchase of a GIC"

Thanks for the reply guys! Yes, I'm applying under SPP. One quick thought, does it really matter to show where the funds came from to buy a GIC. I mean, because my uncle is paying the fee ( think of it as a gift ) what document, if any, is required to prove that these funds will solely be mine and not for any other purpose other than paying my fees. so, GIC + college fees for 1 year is enough to get the permit? Also, is showing the bank statement for past 4 months a 'must'? I mean supposing I deposit the money gifted by my uncle in a Canadian bank in my account, will I have to show my bank statement? I don't have a bank account of my own as I'm 19 years old and unemployed.
thx again :)

Gic does not require any proof of funds..and first year fees is strongly recommended... Bank statement is not Mandatory.. once u deposit your God u can show that investment..!
