Request for Passport June 3rd 2011

We have request to submit our passports to the Buffalo - Canadian consulate.
We will be having a new born kid (who will be born as a U.S citizen) Mid Aug 2011 and we have to submit it before August 1st..
In the Canadian consulate link for family members : It says do not submit passports if "- you intend to give birth or adopt a child prior to your landing in Canada"

We called the consulate couple of times and they say they cannot give an answer over the Ph and i have emailed - no reply (5 Days).
How to declare a kid who is not born yet and our deadline to send passports is nearing soon. Please Urgent help Required

You got you answer, don't submit your passport, unless you intend to "land" before the child is born (unlikely) Send Buffalo a case specific email (the address is on their site) and tell them that the child is expected in mid August and wait for instructions. You will have to add the child to the application, amend your Immigration application, get a passport for the child, pay the fee and wait for medical instructions.

Agreed, you have no choice but to notify them.

There was recently a case on this forum of a couple who sent passports 2 weeks before the child was born. Also applying through Buffalo. They got their visas, then wanted to add the baby afterwards and were told no, you didn't follow the instructions so you can't. They haven't been back here to say if that was the final result but you really do not need this kind of trouble so keep is simple and just follow their instructions.

1. Is this case true even if the child is Born in America as a U.S citizen?

Leon , but in the letter they sent us requesting for passports they have mentioned :

"Dear Applicant:This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We are now in a position to request your passports for visa issuance. Please submit your passport(s) before August 1,2011. The issuance of your visa(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) as requested"

2.Is it enough to inform them through case specific inquiry that we will be having a child and after the child declare the child as a dependent and amend the application, apply passport for the child and wait for medical as PMM said.

So basically it is going to take another year to get passports stamped...

3. Is there a possibility that they might cancel our immigration because we did not submit passports on time.

Please answer these will you?..I' am really confused what to do.

Yes, in the other case I spoke of, the child was also born in the US

And they also said: "In the Canadian consulate link for family members : It says do not submit passports if "- you intend to give birth or adopt a child prior to your landing in Canada" and that is your own quote so you have answered your own question and should not submit the passports because they have told you not to. Instead you should advise them of the pregnancy. Print out the link and highlight where it says do not submit passports and send it along if you will.

Yes, but don't send your passports. A visa issued to you before the baby is born will become invalid after the baby is born so even if you did send your passports now (which you shouldn't because you have been told not to), you would have to send them back again for the visas to be re-issued.

I don't think it will take a year but you really don't have a choice.

No, if they told you not to submit them because of your situation, see link above, then you can not get in trouble for it. You would get in trouble if you don't follow their instructions as happened in that other case.
