My name is Sajit Mohammad Ali.. I had applied under Federal Skilled worker class, have completed Medicals, IELTS all the procedures.. Now I have received a letter from Canadian Embassy, London requesting mine, wife and kids original passport for issuing visa..The letter was dated 01/Jun/10 and they requested to send passport within 45 days??
I had some doubts:
1. As 45 days are already over, is there any deadline for submitting passports? Can I submit passport till the visa expiry date (medical expiry date)
2. They told we will receive the passports by 6 weeks, Now also are they going by this time frame as they claim?
3. I understand that the visa expiry is 1 year from date of medicals(12/Mar/2011)? So I ought to land there before this date.. Also, Is it ok for me to go alone before this date(without family)? Also as I had some job issues now, I wanted to know how many mandatory days I need to stay in Canada after my first landing?
If I land alone first, is there any dead line regarding the first landing for my family?
Please can you explain the procedures and the loopholes regarding the landing procedures...
4. How many years visa they issue?

Thnks a lot... :D

1) yes the deadline is 45 days from Jun 1st but if I will send it now if you don't mind the cost etc. they may have even closed your file, so you have to be careful.
2) I dont know about this.
3) you can land in canada and catch the next flight after your formalities. Your family can land with or after you but before the medical expiry date.
4) It is not a visa but PR. Once you land, you are a PR until you let it lapse. There are rules for PR bcoming lapse. For example, in any 5 years, you should have been in Canada for 2 years unless you have had the PR for less than 5 years, in which case you must still be able to make up the 2 years within the 5 years. Yeah, its confusing lol.
