Dear All,
I am a applicant based in Jeddah,KSA.I sent my application along with my documents to Abu Dhabi to apply TWP but they sent me back here in Jeddah through Aramex because they said i must submit in Riyadh not there.So i will receive my documents tomorrow and i will submit my documents to visa office here in Jeddah.

I need to ask one thing my Iqama will be expire on this 17th of April so please let me know that will affect while processing for TWP or not.Do the visa office accept my application with that date?

That is a weird situation to be in i must admit.

CIC officially says "you must have been admitted to a country of current residence for a period of one year or more" in order to be eligible to apply from there.

So hopefully you have been in SA already for at least a year, and i don't think they would have any issues with expiry of aqama.

However, i don't really know what happens next i.e. if you have to go back to Abu Dhabi this month, then that means you cannot submit your passport for stamping in SA.

Perhaps if you only have got a month left going to back to UAE, you should go back physically and apply from there. While being here and sending docs to UAE which shows that you are currently in SA on work permit probably made them return your docs. Most likely they didn't check your date of expiry of aqama to note you would be returning shortly.

As a general rule, switching places is tricky and one should apply from the place they are physically present at.

Thank you very much Fkl for your quick response.Before i didnt know where to submit my application and even my consultancy advised me to send in Abudhabi so i sent through Aramex.That means its ok if i will submit my application here in visa office,you mean it doesnt affect my application due to the soon expired my Iqama right.
i didnt get this point that means you cannot submit your passport for stamping in SA.
Please clearify once more.Sorry.....

You are most welcome. I believe you partially misunderstood. I didn't say there is no problem at all if you submit from SA either. It depends whether you are staying in SA or not.

You said your aqama is expiring, doesn't that mean you would be leaving SA then? How else are you going to stay? If you already have a renewal in place, then you should submit that along. If you will not be in Saudia, but have submitted application there, then you would have to perform medicals there and would need your passport to be stamped by CIC office in saudia (the canadian visa stamp on passport, if approved). It is illegal to send passport to another country by post, just FYI.

Yes i am in Jeddah currently working here in the Italian Resturant as a Sous Chef.My aqama will be expired on 17th of this month and i want to submit my application on 8th of this month here in Jeddah visa office so kindly advised me that i would have submit my application to visa office or give renew my aqama.Last question please.....

WOW! I don't know. Let me spell that out again. ARE YOU GOING TO APPLY FOR AQAMA RENEWAL (irrespective of Canada work permit app)? I don't know how long does that take. But if you EXPECT LIKELY to be staying in SA while your application is in process, then you should apply from SA and may be attach a copy of your renewal application.

Applying from SA ---- mainly depends upon whether you will be in SA for the next 3-4 months at least or not. Since your aqama is expiring, so LEGALLY i thought you were going back. If so then you SHOULD NOT apply from SA.

Thanks a lots and sorry for asking frequently question.Only 11 days left for expired my aqama.That means they might returned my docuemnts if i submit my application right so better i shall submit my aqama to renew and once it is done than i will submit my application to apply for TWP.Is it ok??

Yes that will make most sense i.e. you get aqama renewed first and then apply
