Hi,

I am moving to Toronto as PR in Oct 2016 and my current Indian employer wants me to work from Canada remotely for 2 months while I remain active in India on India payroll. Even though they have their offices in Canada but they don't want me to transfer to Canada for 2 months. My role in an internal role and there are no client interactions.

Is it legal to work remotely for an Indian company from Canada? Will it anyway affect my PR status?

How about if I start working part time as well in Canada while working remotely for Indian company ? Will it then affect my PR status? is it legal?

How about the Taxation thing?

Kindly help..thanks and best regards

Yes. its legal.. However you will have to report your world wide income on your canadian tax return

I am in a similar situation as Jehika . I am working in India currently and moving to Canada in June .
My company wants to extend my work till July end which means i will be working remotely from Canada for 1.5 months.'

Do you think its legal ? Can you please let me know how did it work out for you ? Any one else with similar situation.
