Hello guys.
Exactly a month ago, I was preparing documents to mail in my TRV application to VFS in Malaysia for my mum and I as we are travelling to visit my uncle (mum's brother) who is a citizen in Canada.
2 weeks later, mum's visa got approved and mine got rejected.
Reasons:
We cannot satisfy them that we will leave Canada at the end of my stay.
[x] Purpose of visit
[x] My family ties in Canada and also in my home country
[x] Current employment status
[x] My financial status
This is what I did.
Purpose of visit - I got an invitation from my uncle stating that he is inviting me and my mum over for a visit and the expenses will be on him.
My family ties - I am not married and I am under my mum's business employment. I do have a separate freelance business that generates about USD$10k a year but I didn't submit the details as I didn't think it was relevant.
Current employment status - I submitted my Employee Provident Fund (EPF) to prove that I am under my mum's business employment.
My financial status - I have more than RM20k in my bank account in Malaysia and I printed a certified true copy statement to show them.
Then the next 2 days, I prepared more documents to reapply again.
This time, my mum tried to help me by writing them a letter that I will be leaving Canada at the end of my stay by coming back to Malaysia to take over her business and assets.
I printed all the asset documents that belong to my mum like shops, houses, trading licenses and even investments like fixed deposits.
In addition, I tried to convince them that I am accompanying my mum to Canada as her visa got approved. I also sent them a copy of my mum's valid visa.
As if the docs seemed to be insufficient, I even printed all my financial statements of my freelance business.
Of course, as you already know, it was refused again for the 2nd time.
This time, their reasons given were:-
[x] Travel history (Now I am confused as this reason didn't appear in my 1st attempt of my visa application).
[x] Purpose of visit
[x] My family ties in Canada... blah.
[x] My financial status
They did approve of my 'Employment status' which appeared to be a reason during my 1st attempt.
About me.
I am under my mum's employment. I also have a freelance business.
Now...
I know they have the rights to refuse and I can definitely accept that even though I am a bit disappointed.
My questions now are (I really appreciate your advice):
[1] We (my mum and I) have a valid itinerary of Air Canada to travel at the end of May (28 May) and do you think there is anything I can do to get my visa approved this time? If yes, what should I do differently from my past 2 attempts?
[2] If I get my uncle (who is a citizen in Canada) to go the immigration department in Canada and convince them that he will be my guarantor that I will leave Canada at the end of my stay, will that work? How should he go about it?
[3] To be honest, I kinda accepted the fate this time round. If my mum takes a year or so to make arrangement for me to take over her business and assets in Malaysia, will that help if I apply for a TRV in the future? By then, I will have business, assets and investment under my name. Do you think they will keep track on a bad record as I have been refused twice?
[4] If I want to apply again at a highest possibility, what should I do?
I know this post is a bit long. But I am providing you as much info as possible so that you can help.
Thank you very much.
Clement
