this forum has helped me a lot always. Now, I need some information for one of my known in Canada. This guy is on study visa right now but he has an sponsorship application as a dependent with parents under family class going on at New Delhi. ND VO has asked for his and parents passport for visa stamping. But he is in Canada on study visa. So what option does he have right now?????

Please reply asap with any information..

Hi rahulchd,

I wasn't in this situation, but my guess is that since his status is valid, he should send an email to the VO asking them what to do...

thanks Shronak for your reply.

He has already sent an email to ND VO but no reply.

FedEx/DHL his passport to his parents house in India and then they can submit the passports to the ND VO

Once they get the visas stamped, when his parents come to Canada, he can just go to the Niagara Falls or any other border to get his PR confirmed.

My sister was in the same situation when we got our PR's and we did the exact same thing.

Hope this helps :)

thanks a lot for your reply. but I think it is illegal to send passport out of country.

Well, he can mail his passport to the ND VO directly as well

In either case, I don't believe it is illegal since Bangladeshis send send passport to Singapore whenever they apply for any kind of visa for Canada. The CHC in Singapore wouldn't have allowed that if this was illegal.

Note the OP is discussing India, not Bangladesh. It is illegal to send Indian passports in/out of India. He will have to find someone to hand carry the passport to India. His parents can carry it with them when they come to "land" and then he can either make an appt. to "land" in Canada or flagpole at a POE.
