I will appreciate some guidance on my situation.
Me and my wife had got our PR and took landing in Sep 2009.
Since we realized my wife was pregnant at that point we decided to head back so she delivered in India getting adequate family support during the delivery. Our PR card expired in 2014 and during this period we did not return to Canada. Now with our second baby also more than a years old, we are very serious about returning to Canada for good.
Having read some of the forum threads I understand
- Getting to Canada using the expired PR card is not a good option as it can lead to reporting and possible expulsion subsequently.
- My situation may not fall under humanitarian and hence very little chance in case I were to appeal.
- I will also need to apply for PR for both my kids, who are not Canadian citizen or PR.
1. Are my above assumptions correct?
2. Is there some way I can still get the Canada Immigration to grant me a renewal?
3. If not then the option I see is to re-apply for PR for me and the family. I am prepared to do that. If so, would I need to just proceed with the application or do i additionally need to do something regarding renouncing the current PR?
thanks,
