Hi Everyone,

I need help urgently because I didn't know getting a TRV would be so difficult until I have been refused twice for my TRV applied online recently.

I have no problem in getting my USA multiple trip 10 years visa nor my Japan visa hence I don't understand why my TRV applications have been refused twice!

I am a Singapore Permanent Residence holding a Malaysia passport. We are travelling in a group of four for 20 days on free and easy travelling together with my aunt and two Singaporean friends to Eastern USA and will only be in Ontario for two days to see the Niagara Falls. I have attached copies of itinerary showing my 20 days trip from Singapore to USA entering Ontario through Buffalo USA, with all air tickets including domestic flights together with all the hotels booking confirmations. I have also enclosed letter from aunt who is travelling with me giving assurance to be my financial sponsor, copies of her bank statements and fixed deposit are also attached. I have also attached my employment letter together with my bank statement plus fixed deposit but my first TRV was refused on the following grounds:-

(1) I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself in Canada and to effect your departure.

(2) You have not provided sufficient documentation to support your/your host's income and assets.

After my first TRV application has been rejected, I attached passport copies of all my travel mates plus their air tickets and hotel reservations and changed my financial sponsor to one of my Singaporean friend. But was also rejected and this time with more reasons and the most ridiculous one is I have a valid 10 years multiple trip USA visa, they put under other reasons as no USA visa:-

(1) You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including your travel history, purpose of visit and your personal assets and financial status.

(2) I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself in Canada and to effect your departure.

(3) You have not provided sufficient documentation to support your/your host's income and assets.

(4) Other reasons: No USA visa
The relationship to the people you are travelling with

I would be utmost grateful if anyone can offer their valuable advice.

Thank you.

CIC is not ridiculous, so please be more respectful with Canada Immigration.

I am also not satisfied by the documentation you provided. In fact I think you don’t really know what you are sending. How does sending a copy of all the passports of people you are travelling with would be relevant? This was a major mistake, if you send those passports you are stating that they are somehow related to you (family most likely), therefore it is most obvious that you haven’t proven your relationship to them (most likely you don’t have one).

Also, a letter from your aunt? Then a letter from a friend? This change was not good at all. You changed sponsorship from a family member to a person who has no relationship with you. The question the CIC officer most likely asked himself was “is she really her aunt?” … so how did you prove that? A letter stating this is of no use. Basically you have to show money in your account or that you can use without anyone’s authorization but your own. If you are not a child then no one other than direct family can sponsor you without proving their family ties with you.

I would suggest getting a loan (from your aunt or friend) into your account or into a travel VISA that shows that it is under your name, submit that financial proof. That should solve it.

Ok thank you for your advice and yes I agree that I have made a bad move changing my sponsor to my friend but I indeed do have a valid 10 years multiple trip USA visa, but under other reasons for refusal they have printed on their letter as "No USA visa".
