Hi Everyone,
Recently my application for study permit was approved and I was asked to submit my passport. For a bit of a context I originally applied FALL 2024 session for a DLI in Quebec (Masters). Due to delay on IRCC's end I had to defer my admission to the next intake which is Winter 2025. For this, I uploaded the new letter of acceptance in Oct 2024 and got the confirmation from IRCC that they have received the letter and are reviewing it. After this, I received my application approval in Dec 2024. To study in Quebec students also require the CAQ certificate. I checked the MIFI website and the caq letter, where it was clearly mentioned that I did not have to apply for a new CAQ if I defer once to the next school session (which is what I did).
Now I had some questions, as my passport is presently with IRCC for stamping;
1. What dates should I expect on the TRV on passport (the new dates or the old dates, my program's final semester date was summer 2026 but due to deferral its fall 2026, this is clearly stated on the revised acceptance letter) ?
2. While the MIFI says the I don't need a new CAQ but the validity of the CAQ remains the same as before (till summer 2026). In that case would the permit be issued as per the CAQ or as per the new letter of acceptance ?
Has anyone been through this process before because I am so worried if this would be an issue at the port of entry ( ideally it shouldn't be because I literally followed all the rules stated). I understand that the process is straightforward for other provinces but for Quebec the CAQ makes the process different???
Any help will be appreciated as my travel date is on end of this month :") Thank you so much!!
