Hi folks,

I am planning to apply for summer intake this year. I completed my Btech in 2005 in electronics and communications and have worked as an engineering lecturer for 5 years and then i have worked as a software test engineer for 5 years now. I intend to study Masters in computer sciences. But my query is will i be able to get a visa to study there as my age is already 33 now ? Or are the chanches of me getting rejected more now? Many consultancies suggested me to drop the idea. But i have a small hope and want to confirm here.

My profile :

10th class - 90%
Intermediate - 86 %
Btech - 68%

IELTS - 7 ( 6+ in each band except speaking where i got 6)

GRE - 298

Age is the issue in your case. Or else it would be great. but you can consult some immigration agency that will be more helpful.

What i suggest is that you apply for express entry as your profile of professional work is very good. So you have better chances in that.

Yeah that is somewhere a sad truth but is a fact. But what opportunity you have is what other lack. you have an amazing professional experience that can lead you to get a direct PR through PNP programs in Canada.

What you have to do now is to do a survey of jobs and scope of your field in different provinces. Once you get with the province which has your field scope and better PR chances. Then put up a file for the PR. This will definitely make your dream come true. Once you get there you can shine better and carry on your hardwork that leads you to the university as a lecturer and guest. There are so many ways you see in profile.

Best of Luck

I dont think age is an issue,as long as you have proof for you work after you bachelors you should be good.

For CIC gap is an issue rather than age.

One of my friend just came to Canada and he is 36yrs old, after his bachelors he was working in an IT company.

i studied masters in Canada too and i have so seen so many people of different age group in my class who just came to canada.

Don't worry go for it and i suggest apply yourself, consultant agencies wont help you much in your case.
